Debbie has felt inspired by Bloom from the very beginning. “I have always been impressed by the work Bloom does, even before I joined the organization,” she shares.
Since joining the team, Debbie has witnessed the impact of this mission firsthand, but one moment stands out above all:
“A foster mom came into the Bloom Closet to shop with her two boys. While she was completing paperwork, the boys were sitting in the lobby when another family walked through the doors with three more boys. Almost instantly, the boys jumped up and began laughing, hugging, and were clearly very excited to be seeing one another. We soon discovered they were all brothers who had been separated and had not seen each other for months. Watching that moment of connection and happiness unfold was unforgettable,” she says.
For Debbie, moments like this are a powerful reminder that foster care is about more than meeting basic needs. That belief is what led her to become a monthly donor, supporting Bloom’s direct shipping program.
“I truly believe everyone deserves to look and feel their best, especially children navigating foster care,” Debbie explains. “The way the boxes are packaged with so much thought and care shows each child that someone truly cares.”
