The Bloom Beyond program is committed to empowering young adults aging out of the foster care system by providing the guidance, skills, and resources needed to thrive. To expand access to these critical resources, the Bloom Closet Express is being utilized to bring clothing and essentials directly to transition-aged youth across Georgia. This initiative allows Bloom to reach young adults who may not have the means to travel to our physical locations, ensuring that those in need—regardless of where they live—can benefit from our services.
Recently, the Bloom Closet Express traveled to Dahlonega to serve young adults in the Northern Star Independent Living Program. During this outreach, Bloom provided essential clothing, hygiene products, and professional attire while introducing participants to the broader support available through Bloom Beyond. A key focus of this effort was supporting young mothers and mothers-to-be, equipping them with baby essentials, maternity clothing, and parenting supplies to help them build a strong foundation for their families.
Another way the Bloom Closet is making an impact is by providing healthcare scrubs to young adults pursuing medical careers. By removing the financial burden of purchasing professional attire, we enable them to focus on their education and career development.
“Bloom Beyond is breaking down barriers to ensure that transition-aged youth have the resources they need to move forward with confidence,” said the Director of Transition Aged Youth Program, Michaela Guthrie. “Whether it’s a young professional preparing for their first job, a student entering a training program, or a new parent building a future for their child, Bloom Beyond is here to support them every step of the way.”
