Bloom is proud to announce that River City Bank in Rome has donated $20,000 through Georgia’s Fostering Success Act. These funds will help fuel the Bloom Beyond program for youth transitioning out of foster care.
Bloom Beyond empowers young adults who have aged out of the foster care system by providing assistance with housing, continuing education, employment and other life skills. Through this program, Bloom ensures that youth entering adulthood are not alone but surrounded by a caring community that helps them build independence and stability.
“The Fostering Success Act is a powerful way for businesses and individuals to make a lasting impact in the lives of young adults who have grown up in foster care,” said Becky Davenport, CEO of Bloom. “We are deeply grateful to River City Bank for their generosity and commitment to helping Georgia’s foster youth thrive.”
The Fostering Success Act, signed into Georgia law in 2022, allows individuals and corporations to receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit for contributions made to qualified foster care support organizations like Bloom. Georgia taxpayers can redirect their state taxes to support programs that equip foster youth with the tools and resources they need to succeed in adulthood.
“We’re extremely proud to support Bloom Our Youth and the incredible work they do for foster youth and families in our community,” said Matt Robbins, CEO of River City Bank. “Through the Fostering Success Act, we’re able to help provide resources that make a real difference in the lives of young adults who need it most.”
Bloom encourages other Georgia businesses and individuals to take advantage of this impactful opportunity to invest in the future of foster youth. By participating in the Fostering Success Act, donors can make a meaningful impact while receiving a state tax credit for their contribution.
