For Dr. Zachary “Zac” Levin, following in his father’s footsteps means much more than becoming an orthodontist. It also means continuing a legacy of compassion for children in need.
Dr. Zac Levin is a third-generation orthodontist and owner of Levin Orthodontics. His late father, Dr. Barry Levin, was an orthodontist as well, but the legacy he left his son extended far beyond his profession.
Dr. Barry believed that every child deserved a new pair of shoes and the dignity, comfort and confidence that can come with them. That belief inspired Sneakers That Fit, an annual tradition that provided new shoes to children in need. Years after his passing, his commitment to children continues through his son.
This summer, Dr. Zac and the Levin Orthodontics team partnered with Bloom to bring Sneakers That Fit to children and teens in foster care across Georgia. From June 18 through July 31, patients, families and community members were invited to donate brand-new sneakers at Levin Orthodontics’ East Cobb and Sandy Springs locations or purchase shoes through Bloom’s Amazon Wish List.
The response was incredible. By the end of the drive, 171 pairs of brand-new shoes had been donated to Bloom, along with baseball hats, diapers, clothing and other essentials for children in foster care.
Bloom is deeply grateful to Dr. Zac Levin, the entire Levin Orthodontics team and every person who contributed to this special drive. What began with Dr. Barry Levin’s belief that every child deserves a good pair of shoes continues today, one child and one pair of sneakers at a time.
